“It’s a nightmare for most homeowners: You’re already tight on money, winter is setting in and the boiler in the house goes out or needs the kind of repairs that make getting a new one the only real option.
“It’s a nightmare for counties, too — or can be,“ said Pat Holland, director of government buildings for Butte-Silver Bow.
One of the giant boilers at the courthouse is out of commission because of a crack that’s leaking water. It’s not a nightmare yet because there are two boilers and one is still running.
But replacing the faulty one isn’t going to be cheap, it’s not a one-day job and the $100,000-plus cost is still on you and other taxpayers. And if the functioning one goes out while the other is being replaced — well, that would leave the entire courthouse and adjoining Law Enforcement Building without heat.”

While this is far from your normal boiler, the cost for replacement is still quite staggering. A crack doesn’t sound that bad, but unfortunately, when it comes to machinery there might no alternative to replacement. It’s fortunate that at least there is one working boiler in the mean time.
At Team Mechanical, we know that boiler replacement can be quite a financial burden for homeowners too. Our team has over 50 years of experience and we always have our customers in mind.
